FORT ASHBY - A Cumberland man was fatally injured Sunday evening when he lost control of his motorcycle on Georges Run Road near Fort Ashby.

FORT ASHBY - A Cumberland man was fatally injured Sunday evening when he lost control of his motorcycle on Georges Run Road near Fort Ashby.
West Virginia State Police said David Umstot, 54, of Cumberland, was operating a three-wheel motorcycle on Georges Run Road at approximately 5:45 p.m. Sunday when he attempted to negotiate a right-hand curve and lost control.
The motorcycle veered across the road and off the north edge, where it crashed.
Umstot died at the scene.
The Mineral County Sheriff’s Department assisted Sr. Trooper A. R. Hanlon of the WVSP at the scene.
Fort Ashby and Short Gap fire departments also responded and assisted with traffic control.
