BURLINGTON - Despite their young ages, “The Wedding Singer” stars Clayton Muir and Sierra Golden each bring an impressive performance resume to the Larenim Park Amphitheater stage this month.
The two play Robbie and Julia, the hapless wedding singer and the new love of his life in this musical adaptation of the 1998 movie starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore.
Clayton Muir is an honor student at Mountain Ridge High School, where he has portrayed the Mad Hatter in “Shrek” and Bobby Pepper in “Curtains.”
He is a member of Team Teal at Mountain City Center for
the Arts in Frostburg, and played Bugsy in “Bugsy Malone Junior.” For that performance, he and his fellow Team Teal members were honored with a Freddie G. Award for Excellence in Acting at the Junior Theater Festival.
Just recently, Clayton has performed as King Julien in “Madagascar” for Acting Out for ALS, as Kenickie in “Grease” for Front & Centre Stage in Cumberland, and was Ladahlord in Apple Alley’s production of “James and the Giant Peach” last month.
Sierra Golden is a recent graduate of Allegany High School, where she played Chava in “Fiddler on the Roof.”
 She has been in theatre and dance for 14 years, appearing in a number of productions.
Mark Ashby, who directed Apple Alley’s 2015 production of “The Addams Family,” is directing “The Wedding Singer,” LeAnn Martin is musical director, and William Clinton Price III is choreographer.
“The Wedding Singer” will be presented for nine nights - July 21-23, July 28-30 and Aug. 4-6 at 8 p.m. at the Larenim Park Amphitheater.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and will be available at the gate.
