FORT ASHBY - A Fort Ashby woman is being treated for a gunshot wound and a man is charged with attempted murder following an argument at their home Thursday night.

FORT ASHBY - A Fort Ashby woman is being treated for a gunshot wound and a man is charged with attempted murder following an argument at their home Thursday night.
According to the West Virginia State Police, Sr. Trooper M. L. Travelpiece and Sr. Trooper W.S Weakley were dispatched to a home in Fort Ashby at approximately 9:14 p.m. Thursday for the report of a gunshot victim.
Upon arrival, troopers encountered 64-year-old Fred Harshberger and 65- year-old Joanne Wagoner, who had suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.  
Troopers said Mr. Harshberger and Ms. Wagoner resided together and had an argument over their relationship prior to the call.  
The Ft. Ashby and Short Gap volunteer fire departments responded with ambulance service.  
Ms. Wagoner was subsequently transported to the Western Maryland Health System by Maryland State Police Trooper 5 for medical treatment.   
A pistol was recovered from the scene.
Harshberger was arrested for attempted murder without further incident.  Bond was set at $250,000
The incident remains under investigation.
