BEL AIR - Two area women were injured Tuesday in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of U.S. Route 220 and Route 956 near Bel Air.

BEL AIR - Two area women were injured Tuesday in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of U.S. Route 220 and Route 956 near Bel Air.
According to the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office,  at approximately 10:18 a.m. Tuesday a deputy responded to a reported vehicle crash and learned that a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by Carole Jean Kline, 67, of Ridgeley, failed to yield right of way and pulled out into the path of a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by Carolyn Ann Butler, 54, of Piedmont.
Both drivers were injured in the crash and were transported to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center by Cresaptown Ambulance.
Both vehicles suffered major damage in the collision. Rt. 220 was partially shut down for approximately one hour.
Cresaptown Fire Department also assisted on the scene.
