TRI-TOWNS - Events for the annual Tri-Towns Homefest will get underway Thursday and continue through Saturday, July 15.
The schedule is as follows:
Thursday, July 13
Annie’s Parade on Wheels: Sponsored by the Concerned Citizens. Lineup starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Piedmont Pool, and the parade begins at 6 p.m. Pool party follows the parade and is sponsored by the Bruce Outreach Center of Westernport.
Friday, July 14
Homefest Parade: Lineup begins at 5 p.m. on Third Street in Piedmont, and the parade starts at 6 p.m. Parade route will be down Second Street, up Ashfield and across the bridge into Westernport, then down Main Street to disband in the area of Roderick’s Furniture.
Truck pull: Registration begins following the conclusion of the parade and the pull, which will actually involve a Mineral County School bus, begins at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Second Street. Teams can sign up on the day of the pull.
Recipient of funds raised this year will be 1-year-old Holley Crowe, diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer known as AT/RT.
Saturday, July 15
7 a.m. Registration for children’s fishing rodeo
8 a.m. Fishing rodeo begins
12:15 p.m.: Fishing rodeo trophies and prizes will be awarded at the registration table.
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Tri-Towns Crafts: 20 percent off in-store merchandise and sign up for gift certificate
9 a.m. until sold out: Church Women of the Tri-Towns will have homemade pies, funnel cakes and a bake sale at the Presbyterian Church.
Noon to 6 p.m.: Swimming at Piedmont Pool
4 p.m. till dusk: Car show behind Piedmont Legion
4 p.m. till dusk: Vendors will be set up
4 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.: Bounce house, sno cones, kiddie rides, big slide and dunk tank (all money from dunk tank will be donated to Keymani Wilson for medical expenses).
4-8 p.m.: Voting for Homefest royalty.
4 p.m.: Live wrestling with special guest former WWE star The Patriot.
7:30 p.m.: Milk chugging contest.
7:30 p.m.: Entertainment by Pan Jammin’ All-Stars.
8 p.m.: Chew spitting contest.
8:30 p.m.: Crowning of Homefest Royalty
8:45 p.m.: Drawing for bicycle W.A.G.G. Police Department program
10 p.m.: Fireworks
