CHARLESTON - A Mineral County native will be serving an internship with West Virginia Secretary of State Mac Warner this summer.
Warner announced recently that West Virginia University College of Law student Kendra Welker has joined his office for a summer internship.
Kendra is working with the Legal Division in the Secretary of State’s Office. Her primary interest in the summer internship program is to learn more about election fraud.
“Kendra will be a valuable resource for our legal staff,” Warner said.
“Election fraud is a national issue that’s getting a lot of attention. We’re trying to do our part here in West Virginia to work with our county clerks to eliminate election fraud and to clean up our voter registration rolls throughout the state.”
Kendra holds a Bachelor’s of Science in finance. After law school she would like to pursue a career in corporate law.
She is a 2010 graduate of Frankfort High School in Mineral County.
