NETHKEN HILL - Nethken Hill United Methodist Church will hold their annual Memorial Weekend Saturday, May 27, through Monday, May 29.
A military flag raising ceremony will kick off the activities at noon Saturday.
Flags for the program were purchased by individuals and organizations for each branch of the servcie - Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard and National Guard. Those supporters will be present Saturday to raise the flags for the first time.
Ron Kuykendall will be sharing music.
Church will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, with Pastor Mark Hickman bringing the message.
A chicken BBQ dinner will follow at noon, with a half-chicken, potato salad, baked beans, roll, drink and dessert for $8 for adults, $4 for children age 5-10 and free for those under 4 years old.
Take-out will be available.
On Monday, the Memorial Day program will begin at 11 a.m., with Thomas Caldwell as the speaker. Kevin Shreve will provide special music.
A buffet dinner will follow, with meals being $8 for adults, $4 for ages 5-10 and free for those under 4 years old. Veterans will eat free.
