KEYSER - The Mineral Daily News Tribune has some exciting events coming up within the next few weeks, including the second annual cruise-in this Saturday, an open house on Thursday, June 1, and special sections for the Reader’s Choice awards, graduation, the Mineral County Fair and the Mineral County Chamber of Commerce.
The cruise-in will get underway at 10 a.m. Saturday in the News Tribune parking lot, and classic vehicles of all makes and models are welcome to “cruise in” and stay a spell - showing off their fancy features and any awards they  may have picked up along the way.
A number of vendors of all types have signed up so far to set up for the cruise-in, and additional vendors for food, crafts, flea market items and more are being accepted through Friday.
In addition, live music will be provided by Fred Kesner and Pan Jammin’ Studio from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
For further information, or to sign up, call 304-788-3333 and ask for Teffany.
Then, on Thursday, June 1, the News Tribune will be opening its doors for an “after hours” open house from 5-7 p.m.
Co-hosted by the Mineral County Chamber of Commerce, the open house will feature light appetizers and beverages, and give the public a chance to stop by, see the offices and visit with the hometown staff at the newspaper.
In the meantime, the staff is currently working on the special section announcing the winners of the annual “Best of the Best” Readers’ Choice awards, which will be published on Friday, May 26; the annual salute to area high school graduates, which will be published Monday, May 29; the annual Mineral County Fair Tab, which includes schedules, rules and regulations, and information on the 2017 fair and publishes Friday, June 15; and the Mineral County Chamber of Commerce directory, which will be available to the public later in June.
