The production opens on Friday, April 21, kicking off with the Red Carpet Gala at 6 p.m.
"The public is invited to the gala - where the stars, directors and producers will come down the mall in vintage automobiles, exit on to the red carpet and offer opportunities for photos, autographs and live FB coverage," says gala chair Trish Morgan.
Following the red carpet, attendees will enter the Embassy, where the lobby will be set up as a cabaret, with Don Stephens at the piano bar and complimentary finger foods and cranberry pizzazz punch available to all," Morgan adds.
"Lobby cabaret attendees can mill around the lobby, or head up to the balcony overlooking the orchestra area and stage."
The production stars Kimberli Rowley as Sally Bowles, Danny Durr as the MC, Timothy Bambara as Cliff Bradshaw, Nicole Halmos as Fräulein Schneider, and Mark Perman as Herr Schultz.
It is directed by Tom Valentine, with musical direction by Beau Hartman. Choreographer for "Cabaret" is Kimberli Rowley.
Rounding out the cast are Stephen Gumtz, Aimee Conley, Brittany Eberly, Sophie Davis, Jessica Seminerio Grapes, Emily Haworth, Skylar Spanburgh, Chelsea Conley, Jesse Wilson and Brett Reel.
"These are some of the most outstanding actors in our region," says executive director Jerard Puckett. "They bring these 'Cabaret' characters to life, and when you hear them sing and watch them dance - you will feel like you are part of their lives!"
"Cabaret" will also be taking reservations for its dinner/theatre package with Ristorante Ottaviani on North Centre Street. Those interested in the package will enjoy dinner at Ottaviani's, "Cabaret" at Embassy, reserved seating, a complimentary cocktail or beverage and opportunity for a post-show photo with cast members. Reservations for the package are to be made by calling Embassy.
Embassy Theatre is located on the Downtown Cumberland Mall, 49 Baltimore St., Cumberland. The production runs from April 21-30 - with Friday and Saturday shows at 8 p.m. and Sunday shows at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $18 for adults and $16 for seniors/students. Tickets can be ordered through Eventbrite, or can be reserved by phone for purchase at the door.
