KEYSER — Hannah Leigh Brill and Eric Lynn Wingler were united in marriage on Saturday, May 16, 2009, at the Church of the Assumption, Keyser, W.Va..
The double ring ceremony was officiated by Father William Petro, with the Rev. James McCune serving as co-officiant.
The bride is the daughter of Steven and Michelle Brill of Keyser. She is the granddaughter of Betty Harbaugh of Keyser.
The groom is the son of Roy Wingler of Auto, W.Va., and Ginny Wingler of Keyser. He is the grandson of Wilsie Wingler of Auto, W.Va.
The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She wore a strapless, ivory satin trumpet gown with a beaded and metallic lace bodice accented with a satin empire band with bow, and lace-up back with a flowing chapel train. The bride wore an elbow length ivory veil trimmed in satin and decorated with tiny crystals.
She carried a bouquet of pink hydrangeas, yellow-green hydrangeas, pink roses, yellow roses, and coleus with the stems wrapped in watermelon pink ribbon. The bride wore a pearl necklace and matching pearl earrings which belonged to her grandmother, Colleen Brill.
Serving as matron of honor was Crystal Haggerty, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Erica Denmark, Misty Guthrie and Kimmie Mongold, friends of the bride. The attendants wore gowns designed by David’s Bridal in a watermelon pink color and each of the girls wore the gown design of their choice. The dresses were accented with matching pink cat’s eye stone earrings, necklaces and bracelets that were gifts from the bride and they each carried a bouquet of flowers that was a smaller replica of the bride’s bouquet. The bouquets were all made by the mother of the bride.
Serving as flower girls were Breanna Whisner and Carlie Whisner, cousins of the groom. They wore matching floor-length, ivory-colored satin gowns with a beaded bodice. The flower girls also wore matching necklaces and bracelets that were gifts from the bride. The jewelry was all crafted to match the bridal party dresses by Julie Adams of Oakland, Md.
J.J. Wingler served as his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Bobby Gattens, cousin of the groom, and Bradley Mongold and Larry Virts, friends of the groom. Corey Brill, brother of the bride, and Morgan Perry, friend of the bride, served as ushers. Serving as ring bearer was T.J. Simpson, cousin of the groom.
During the wedding ceremony, Ashlie Brill and J.R. Simpson read the scripture selections and Corey Brill read the prayers of the faithful. A memorial candle was placed on the altar in memory of James and Colleen Brill and Thomas Harbaugh, grandparents of the bride, and Lynn and Nellie Simpson and Larmon Benton Wingler, grandparents of the groom.
David Lemon provided the organ music for the service.
Ashlie Brill, sister of the bride, served as the guest book attendant and the program attendant was Amber Brill, cousin of the bride. Breanna and Carlie Whisner distributed bubbles to the wedding guests following the ceremony.
The reception was held at the Wind Lea Banquet and Conference Center, where guests dined on a buffet-style dinner which included stuffed pork loin, roast beef, garlic mashed potatoes, green beans, sauerkraut, and caesar salad.
The three-tier wedding cake consisted of layers of strawberry and vanilla and was topped with the wedding topper which was originally used on the wedding cake of the bride’s grandparents, Tom and Betty Harbaugh, at their wedding on Aug. 4, 1956. The groom’s side cake was chocolate with chocolate icing. The dinner and the cakes were prepared by Diane Cooper of Me Me D’s Catering.
The bride and groom danced their first dance to “She’s Everything” by Brad Paisley and the bride danced with her father to “You’re Gonna Miss This” by Trace Atkins. The reception music was provided by John Staggers. The events of the day were captured by photographer Carla Rice of Guided by Grace Images, Cumberland, Md.
The couple resides in Fort Ashby, W.Va.
Eric is employed at Wayne’s Country Fresh Meats in Fort Ashby as manager of the Meat Department. Hannah is employed by Mineral County Schools at Keyser Primary-Middle School. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Reading through West Virginia University and will graduate in August.
