KEYSER — John and Christine Junkins of Keyser are proud to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Mariah Leigh, to Samuel Nelson Sarver.
Sam is the son of Barbara and Ronald Sarver of Markleysburg, Pa.
Mariah is a 2007 graduate of Pleasant Valley Christian Academy of Oakland, and Sam is a 2005 graduate of Uniontown High School in Uniontown, Pa. They are magna cum laude and summer cum laude graduates, respectively, from Pennsylvania Culinary Institute of Pittsburgh and are both members of Eta Sigma Delta Hospitality Management Honor Society.
Mariah and Sam are baking and patisserie chefs at the Chateau Lafayette at Nemocolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, Pa.
The couple were engaged on May 6, 2007, at the Jumonville Cross in Hopwood, Pa. The Jumonville Cross is a 60-foot-tall steel cross on Dunbar’s Knob which, on a clear day, can be seen from three states up to 50 miles away.
The couple will be united in marriage on July 18, 2009, at the Church of the Assumption in Keyser, with a reception to follow at Wind Lea Banquet and Conference Center.
