PIEDMONT — Joseph Braithwaite and Christa Ashby were united in marriage on July 21, 2008, in Cumberland.
Joe is the son of Helen Braithwaite of Piedmont and the late Junior Braithwaite.
Christa is the daughter of Charles and Dottie Riggleman of Westernport and the granddaughter of Hazel Dewitt Ross of Moran Manor.
Together, they have three children, Chris Pearce, Nikki Markle and J.R. Braithwaite; and four grandchildren, Sami, Tiffani, and Autumn Pearce and Xander Markle.
The couple honeymooned in Ocean City and celebrated with a Blue Hawaiian theme reception at the Westernport American Legion. Decorations and entertainment were provided by Buster and Rhonda Jones of Silver Eagle Karaoke and DJ.
The food and cake were prepared and served by Kathy Broadwater of Barton. Joe is employed at NewPage and the couple currently reside in Piedmont.
