The Mineral County Health Department will hold a food school class on Monday, Feb. 25. Registration will start at 9 a.m. and the class will start at 9:30 a.m. There is a $5 fee.
• The health department will also offer a cholesterol and glucose screening clinic on Wednesday, Feb. 27.
Cholesterol screening is $7 and glucose screening is $6. Fasting is required for the glucose screening. Please call the health department at 304-788-1321 for an appointment
• The New Creek Volunteer Fire Department is currently selling 50/50 raffle tickets to benefit the department. The drawing will be held at the fire station on Feb. 29.
Anyone interested in purchasing tickets are urged to contact a member of the fire department. Tickets are also being sold at the New Creek Country Store on Route 972 in New Creek. Costs is $1 each or six for $5. Individuals do not need to be present to win the raffle.
