KEYSER- A Keyser man was killed Saturday. Dec. 22, when he lost control of his vehicle on Route 220 and it crossed the center lane and was struck by an oncoming car. Frederick Hartford Washington, Jr., 46 of Keyser, was traveling north bound on Route 220 in a 2006 Chevrolet Impala when the accident occurred north of Fort Hill Road at 7:10 a.m.
A 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer traveling south bound struck the Impala on the passenger side. Washington was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Trailblazer, Roger Lynn Huffman, 54 of Cumberland, was transported to Western Maryland Health Regional Hospital Center with non-life threatening injuries. The snow emergency plan was in effect at the time of the accident. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to contact the Maryland State Police at 304-729-2101.
