Piedmont, WV. -- Dwain Harrison Broadwater, 67, of 62 3rd St, Piedmont, passed away Monday August 30, 2010 at his residence.
Born December 15, 1942 at Cross, he was the son of the late Howard and Mabel (Ashby) Broadwater. Four brothers, Dallas, Dale, Don, and Darl Broadwater, and a sister, Dorothy Broadwater, also preceded him in death.
Mr. Broadwater was a retired coal miner, having worked at Island Creek Coal Co. for 37 years. He was a member of the United Mine Workers Union #2410.
He loved the outdoors, especially wildlife hunting and ginseng hunting.
A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he leaves behind his wife, Mary Louise (Braithwaite) Broadwater, four children, Wayne Broadwater and wife Wanda of Ligonier, PA, Crystal Carr and husband Ronald of New Creek, Kevin Broadwater and wife Robin of Elk Garden, Brandon Broadwater and wife Valarie of Keyser, two brothers, Delbert "Pete" Broadwater of Westernport, MD, and Dwight Broadwater of Cross. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Aaron Carr, Alexis Carr, Albert Broadwater, Christian Broadwater, Ethan Broadwater, Chasity Broadwater, Morgan Broadwater, Reese Broadwater, Reagan Broadwater, two step grandchildren, Scotty Lambka and Bryan Lambka and a step great grandchild, Greyson Scott Lambka.
The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, MD, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Thursday at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Ross Glotfelty officiating.
Interment will be Sinclair Memorial Park, Cross.
