KEYSER — A Keyser man faces DUI charges after police pulled him over early Sunday morning, following a report that his vehicle had nearly struck a pedestrian.
Police are also investigating a weekend break-in at a business on Armstrong Street.
Keyser City Police received a call just after 3 a.m. Sunday, with the caller reporting that she had nearly been struck by a red pickup truck traveling on Armstrong Street, near Water Street.
Officers on patrol located a vehicle on Fort Avenue matching that description, and initiated a traffic stop. Subsequent investigation led to a first-offense DUI charge against James A. Weasenforth, 22, of Keyser.
In other police activity, officers responded at 6:35 a.m. Sunday to a report of an alarm activated and a broken door at the laundromat on Armstrong Street. Intruders had been able to gain entrance to the business and make off with undisclosed items.

At 3:24 p.m. police responded to the Family Dollar Store at the Keyser Mall for a report of a shoplifter. Charged with shoplifting $18 worth of goods was Leah L. Critchfield, 19, of Keyser.
