Paul s. corbin, Sr.
Paul S. Corbin, Sr., 84, of Chesapeake Avenue, McCoole, MD, died Sunday, August 22, 2010 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland, MD.
Born on March 30, 1926 at McCoole, MD, he was a son of the late Edgar C. and Daisy Elizabeth (Lahman) Corbin. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Janet L. (Rogers) Corbin on October 2, 1999; an infant daughter, Matosh Corbin; a granddaughter, Misty Dawn Haggerty; four brothers, Bobby, David, Ernest and Sherman Corbin and two sisters, Goldie Livesay and Gertrude Butts.
Mr. Corbin was a retired carman with the B & O Railroad with 37 years of service. He served in the U.S. Navy and attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Cumberland, MD. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen and was a faithful and avid supporter of St. Jude's Childrens Hospital, Feed the Children Ministry and Morris Cerullo World Evangelism.
Surviving are one son, Paul S. Corbin, Jr. and wife Mollie and one daughter, Tammie L. Haggerty and husband Richard, all of Keyser; one sister, Jeanette Simpson of Norfolk, VA; six grandchildren, Sheri Tichinel, Randy Corbin, Eric Corbin, Mindy Pearce, Nikki Wilkinson and Toby Haggerty; 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Harry Copen officiating.
Interment will be in the Cabin Run Cemetery, Keyser, WV.
