ROCKET CENTER — Union employees at ATK went back to work Wednesday morning after two days on the job, with union representatives saying the workers would remain on the job on a “day-to-day” basis as negotiations continue.
Ron Moore of the International Chemical Workers Union said the agreement to return to work was facilitated by a federal mediator, who is helping to facilitate negotiations between the union and the defense contractor.
Moore said the 700 employees represented by the union would remain on the job as long as progress is being made in the ongoing neogotiations.
“Until we see otherwise, we're going to work day-by-day and see what happens,” he said.
Of ATK's 18,000 employees nationwide, the local workers at Rocket Center are the only company employees represented by the International Chemical Workers Union.
